As our non-verbal son was about to head off to kindergarten, we could no longer tell ourselves that our little boy would simply outgrow his toddler-like behavior. We also were confronted by the realization that his lifetime of intensive applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy, speech and occupational therapy were unable to effectively address certain behavioral concerns. We were fortunate to connect with Trisha Hartnett, PA-C. She is the unique psychiatric healthcare provider we were looking for: One who is experienced at treating behavioral health concerns in very young children on the autism spectrum. Trisha is a competent, knowledgeable, empathetic evidence-based provider. She sets proper expectations on the first appointment, that she will address one concern at a time by starting one new medication at a time to evaluate for tolerability and then very slowly titrate up the dosage to find the lowest effective dosage. We appreciated her honesty that treating nonverbal children, like our son, was challenging and that this would be a process that would take time but would provide the safest and best outcome for our little boy. With this approach, her genuine empathy and professional insights, we were able to find the right combination for our son that addresses his problem behaviors while letting his genuine, kindhearted disposition shine through. Thank you Trisha for improving the quality of life for not only our little boy but for our entire family. We will forever be grateful for your commitment and dedication to take on the complex cases like our son while acknowledging the daily challenges our family endures caring for our sweet little boy with unique needs.

I have known Trisha Hartnett since 1998, and have been a supervising psychiatrist for her pediatric psychiatric practice intermittently for over 10 years. Trisha is an exceptionally knowledgeable clinician with much experience in a variety of practice settings, both public and private. She demonstrates unwavering kindness and compassion toward her patients, and her clinical judgment is excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending her for psychiatric treatment of any age group.

Trisha Hartnett worked with our son, who dealt with a number of issues, including manic-depressive behavior and anger management. We cannot adequately express our gratitude. We now have the kind, caring and wonderful child that we raised back in our lives! Trisha quickly identified his needs, and immediately began to provide the therapy, tools and coping mechanisms required. Thank you Trisha!

Trisha was a life saver for my young adult son who was away at college in a small town with no psychiatric care. Trisha treated his anxiety and depressive symptoms that had become debilitating. She provided effective med management through telemedicine but also provided a kind and caring support that went a long way in symptom resolution. I cannot speak highly enough of Trisha’s competence. She is a rare find in this time of epidemic psychiatric needs.
